DesignCrowd is an online marketplace providing logo, website, print and graphic design services by providing access to freelance graphic designers and design studios around the world. DesignCrowd has recently aquired US based BrandStack and launched BrandCrowd, a marketplace for ready-made brands and logos.
DesignCrowd operates in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, the Philippines and India.
DesignCrowd.com – an online marketplace that helps businesses around the world outsource or „crowdsource‟ creative projects – has received a $3M venture capital investment from Melbourne based Starfish Ventures.
Two years after launching, it raised $300,000 from angel investors, established its first office and co-founder Adam Arbolino joined the business. Between 2007 and 2009, DesignCrowd grew 14-fold and in 2011 it raised $3 million from investors at Australia’s largest venture capital firm, Starfish Ventures. Since then it’s continued its strong growth.
DesignCrowd.com has secured a further $3 million in funding from Starfish Ventures taking total funding to $6.3 million. DesignCrowd will use the funding to continue its international expansion including establishing a US office, and scaling operations and marketing functions internationally.
Sydney-based graphic design crowdsourcing platform, DesignCrowd, has opened its first overseas office in Manila, with San Francisco to follow next month as the Starfish Ventures-backed firm increases localised support to grow its base of 170,000 registered designers.
It looks like you’re on a winner. The market loves your product, VCs are calling and you’re into your second round of funding. You’re hiring like crazy, you’re on the growth curve and the future is looking pretty damn good. Now there are new challenges, each one potent enough to kill the growth stone dead.
